Meadows at Double Creek | South Austin New Home Community
At the south end of S. 1st Street in South Austin, you will find a lovely new home community called the Meadows at Double Creek. The subdivision was developed by Newmark Homes, but when its parent company ran into financial difficulties with the economic downturn, it sold its Austin-area holdings. The "new kid on the block," Scott Felder Homes, is not really new. This is a local company that essentially merged with Newmark years back, and is now making its presence known again in Austin area real estate. Meadows at Double Creek is just one of the subdivisions it will be building. Others in the South Austin area include Bridges at Bear Creek and Independence.
When completed, this neighborhood will have around 125 single-family homes, smallish in comparison to most others in the area. Scott Felder will add its touches to 10 former Newmark plans, and will maintain the feel and decor of Meadows at Double Creek. Homes will include 1- and 2-story layouts in sizes from 1,566, sq. ft. to 3,000 sq. ft. These homes are well equipped with standard features that make them livable and energy efficient. Base prices begin at almost $200k.
With oodles of shopping, eating and entertainment opportunities nearby (Southpark Meadows and Cabela's, for example), this is a good place to call home.
