Highpointe Subdivision | Southwest Austin | Dripping Springs
Heading west from Austin past the "Y" on US-290 you will find some very nice neighborhoods, including Ledge Stone on the north side of the highway and Belterra on its south side. If you turn left (south) just past Belterra on Sawyer Ranch Road, you will see Sawyer Ranch on the right and soon will come to Highpointe on the left. This gated community is being developed by Wilshire Homes and Pulte Homes on some lovely real estate in the Southwest Austin HIll Country. Sales began in 2005 and will continue until the roughly 1,000 homes planned there are completed.
If you want a home out in the country, but close enough to Austin or Dripping Springs for jobs, entertainment, shopping and the like, Highpointe may be just what you are looking for! The homes are great, the views lovely, the trees stately, and the landscaping beautiful. When you enter Highpointe, drive straight on Cool Spring Way and you will find the Residents' Club on the right. This provision for homeowners in Highpointe is fabulous. It includes a large connumity center building with meeting rooms, gym/fitness area and more. Large oak trees decorate the area around the building, the four pools, the covered pavilion and children's playscape. Did I mention that this area is situated next to a lovely lake? Just to the east of the community center are tennis courts, a basketball court, baseball field and soccer field. The neighborhood also is home to 5 miles of hike and bike trails.
Homes in Highpointe come in many shapes and sizes. Wilshire, for example, offers 23 home plans and Pulte offers another eight. Choose from single-story through 2.5-story homes with four sides masonry and more features than you can "shake a stick at." Smaller homes begin at almost 1,900 sq. ft. The larger ones are over 4,000 sq. ft. Prices for new homes begin in the $220's and move upward from there. The most expensive homes are in the estates section. These homes all qualify for the Energy Star rating. You can also find resale homes on the market.
For shopping head to Circle C Ranch for groceries, to Dripping Springs for home improvement goods, to Austin for WalMart, Costco, and Sam's. There are many shopping and eating places within about 10-15 miles of Highpointe. Golfers can play the Grey Rock or Plum Creek Golf Clubs, or venture north to Falconhead or other championship layouts. Explore the great outdoors at the Veloway, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, the Hamilton Pool Preserve and other parks in the area.
