Located just east of I-35 and south of Parmer road is a nice residential real estate development called Pioneer Crossing. This neighborhood is being built in one of the high-tech corridors of Austin (near Dell Computer and Samsung Electronics). Thus Pioneer Crossing is in a great location for workers and families in this business.
Pioneer Crossing actually has two sections of homes: West and East. Both sections have their own community centers, with pool, picnic tables and playscapes. Pioneer Crossing West is located on the north side of E. Braker Lane (off Dessau Road). To get to Pioneer Crossing East, take Parmer Lane past the Samsung plant and take a right at Samsung Blvd. Several hundred homes have been built in Pioneer Crossing by builders such as Taylor Morrison, Newmark, Lennar and Meritage Homes. As is the case in most new home communities in the Austin area, building in Pioneer Crossing has slowed significantly in early 2009. As the health of the economy and real estate market turns, you can expect a renewed effort by builders to construct nice single-family homes in Pioneer Crossing.
Pioneer Crossing homes are a mixture of 1- and 2-story models that range in size from around 1,250 sq. ft. to over 3,100 sq. ft., and in price from around $130K to over $300K. Builders have included many standard features that make the homes in Pioneer Crossing very livable and energy efficient. If you are looking for a home in this area of Austin, you can probably find one that matches your dreams and your budget in Pioneer Crossing.
The Pioneer Crossing East and West neighborhoods have good access to major roadways like I-35 (west on Parmer Lane), SH-130 (east on Parmer), and US-183/US-290 (south on Dessau). Via these roads, residents can get to all points Austin and beyond, and to jobs, shopping and entertainment opportunities. One feature near the subdivision is the Jourdan-Bachman Pioneer Farms, located on the south side of Pioneer Crossing West at Pioneer Farms Road. This place exists to preserve some of Texas' early history. Some of its features include a blacksmith shop, homesteads, a barn, a museum, and a general store. Pioneer Farms in staffed by volunteers and is open on Sundays and Fridays.
