A view of some of the nice homes in Round Rock's Walsh Ranch subdivision.The Walsh Ranch subdivision is in a "cluster" of fairly recent residential developments between Sam Bass Rd. and FM-1431 on the west side of IH-35 in Round Rock. The 238 homes in Walsh Ranch were built during a 5-year period (2006 through 2010) by well-known and respected Austin-area builders Taylor Morrison Homes, Highland Homes and Drees Custom Homes.

Homes in the Walsh Ranch neighborhood vary a good bit in size: from 2,673 sq. ft. to over 4,600 sq. ft. Buyers can find homes with 3 to 6 bedrooms, 2.5 to 5.5 baths, 2-3 garage spaces, and 1- to 2-stories. Walsh Ranch Amenities, HOA and Taxes

As is the case with many neighborhoods in the Austin-Round Rock area, this community has a Homeowner's Association (Walsh Ranch HOA). Owners of properties in Walsh Ranch are required to be members of the HOA and to abide by its rules/restrictions. Monthly fees in January 2016 were around $400 annually. Walsh Ranch has a number of in-community amenities, including hike and bike trail, playscape, a small pool with a splash fountain for small children, and a community swim pool with a covered patio.

Walsh Ranch has a very nice community center!Tax rates in Walsh Ranch are set by a number of entities, including the Round Rock ISD, Williamson County, the Walsh Ranch MUD and the Austin Community College. When this information was updated in January 2016, the total tax rate was set at $2.75 per $100 of property value. Since the utility infrastructure is provided through the MUD, there are no City of Round Rock taxes.

Walsh Ranch is located well with plenty of options for travel and commuting, for shopping and eating out, for outdoor activities, like golf, and much more. The closest golf clubs in the area are Teravista (Round Rock) and Avery Ranch (NW Austin). Shoppers can venture east of the neighborhood to the Round Rock Premium Outlets (next to Teravista), north to those at Wolf Ranch in Gorgetown, south to shops at the intersection of IH-35 and SH-45 in Round Rock, and west toward many other places in Cedar Park and along US-183 in NW Austin. There are also options for education in the area along University Blvd. in Round Rock. These schools include the Round Rock Higher Education Center (Texas State University system), The Texas A&M Health Science Center, and the Austin Community College campus in Round Rock.
