Trails and North Trails Kyle Subdivisions -- Builders & Homes

A view of homes in the Trails neighborhood in Kyle, Texas.Kyle's Trails subdivision was begun in 1998 by Buffington Homes, later joined by builders KB Home (Kaufman and Broad) and Wilshire Homes (limited building). The North Trails subdivision was built by Main Street Homes in the years 2001-2002. These neighborhoods were virtually completed in 2002, though a couple of homes were added in 2003-2004. 

Buyers of homes in Trails and North Trails can get either a single- or two-story plan. They range in size from around 1,050 sq. ft. to over 3,000 sq. ft., and have typically 3-4 bedrooms, though a few have 2 bedrooms and some feature 5-6 bedrooms. All homes have 2-2.5 bathrooms. Many of these residences have been updated or have had some systems replaced through their years.

Trails & North Trails Kyle Subdivisions HOA, Amenities and Taxes

There is no HOA (Homeowner Association) in either the Trails or the North Trails communities.

Those living in these neighborhoods can visit the public Steeplechase Park, located along Plum Creek between the Praire on the Creek and Steeplechase neighborhoods just to the north. Residents of Trails and North Trails can enjoy its 31 acres of park land. Features include a covered pavilion & picnic facilities, basketball court, two baseball/softball fields, playground and playscape for A view of the Steeplechase Park in Kyle, Texas.children, a sand volleyball court, a soccer field and an 18-hole disc golf course.

Lake Kyle and the Plum Creek Reserve, another park facility owned by the City of Kyle, is located on the east side of the Trails & North Trails neighborhoods just across Lehman Rd.

Homeowners in Trails and North Trails pay property taxes to the City of Kyle, Hays County, the Hays Consolidated ISD, and several other taxing entities. Total tax rates for year 2016 were around $2.82/$100 of property value.

Connectivity: Getting to recreational facilities, schools, worksites, shopping centers and more is fairly simple for those living in the Trails and North Trails communities, since the neighborhoods are located very near to IH-35. Air travelers can connect to ABIA (Austin Plum Creek view in Steeplechase ParkBergstrom Intercontinental Airport) via IH-35 north to US-71/290 and US-183 east, or by catching SH-45 east to SH-130 and taking US-71 east from there.

Shopping and Eating Retail developments along IH-35 in Kyle offer many opportunities for eating out and shopping. These are Kyle Marketplace and Kyle Crossing(with big-box stores HEB Plus & Super Target, on the west side of IH-35), The Village at Kyle (with big-box stores WalMart SuperCenter & Lowe's, on the east side of IH-35), and Kyle Town Centre (Home Depot and EVO Entertainment) just to the north.

In San Marcos there are many retail facilities (Tanger Outlets & Premium Outlets, e.g.). Buda features its Cabela's outdoor store, its WalMart and HEB stores, and a number of eating establishments. The very popular Southpark Meadows development in South Austin has a WalMart SuperCenter, a Super Target, a Sam's Club, a RoomStore, a J. C. Penneys, and more.

9th hole at the disc golf course in Steeplechase ParkMedical Care: The Seton Medical Center Hays was added to The Village at Kyle development in late 2009. The area also has a number of walk-in type healthcare/ememgency centers. 

Golf Courses: The Plum Creek Golf Course, located in Kyle, offers a challenging 18-hole. It features a large clubhouse, pro shop, and practice facilities like putting green, short-game area and driving range. Other area courses include the Grey Rock Golf Club (Circle C area in Southwest Austin), and the Jimmy Clay, Roy Kizer and Riverside courses in South Austin.

Public Schools ♦ Students Living in the Trails & North Trails Kyle Subdivisions

Schools attended by Trails and North Trails students are operated by the Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD). Persons interested in purchasing a home in this area should verify which schools their children will attend with the Hays CISD (school attendance boundaries are sometimes redrawn).
