Because the neighborhood is so new (the Grand Opening was held in April 2011), there is not much home sales data available. The first home sale recorded in the Austin MLS was closed on 2/17/2011. A number of homes have been sold in the community, including some not shown in the table below (direct builder-to-buyer sales).

Sunfield Subdivision in Buda ♦ Developer, Builders, Homes and Amenities

Home Builders & Developer ♦ Sunfield Buda

One of the model homes in Sunfield BudaThe developer, Scarborough Lane Development, has a gigantic vision for this 2,700-acre property. What once was viewed as rather common land on the east side of Buda will be transformed by the eventual construction of around 4,000 homes on 45', 50' and 60' lots. In addition to single family residences, the plan calls for some apartments and commercial facilities. Per the developer's website, full development is expected to last 15-20 years.

Homes in this new neighborhood are being built by two builders: Centex Homes and CastleRock Communities. Centex has been building homes in the Central Texas area for a number of years. CastleRock, which also has developments in Houston and San Antonio, made its entry into the area via the Teravista development in Round Rock.

Sunfield Subdivision in Buda New homes by Centex Homes

In April 2011, Centex Homes is offering 8 different models of homes that range in size from 1,201 sq. ft. up to 2,043 sq. ft. Six of these homes are single-story. Base prices begin in the mid-$120's and top out around $153,000. Just one of the homes (the largest) in this initial phase of building has two stories.

New homes by CastleRock Communities

CastleRock's homes from its Silver Series include eight different designs that have base prices ranging from $149k to near $200k. Buyers can choose from floor plans that offer from 1,651 sq. ft. to 2,843 sq. ft. of living area.
