Home Builders & Developer ♦ Sunfield Buda

One of the model homes in Sunfield BudaThe developer, Scarborough Lane Development, has a gigantic vision for this 2,400-acre property. What once was viewed as rather common land on the east side of Buda is being transformed! When done, the development will be home to around 4,000 homes on 45', 50' and 60' lots. In addition to single family residences, the plan calls for some apartments and commercial facilities. Per the developer's website, full development is expected to last 15-20 years.

Homes in Sunfield are being built (2/20) by six builders. These include the original builders, Centex Homes and CastleRock Communities, and two more builders which started building in 2015: Gehan Homes and Chesmar Homes. Two new builders were added to the builder mix in 2018: Pulte Homes and Taylor Morrison Homes (formerly William Lyon Homes)

In February 2020, buyers can purchase a new home in Sunfield beginning at a base price of $209,490 (Centex). Chesmar Homes and CastleRock Communities, build the highest priced homes in Sunfield, wiuch stretch up to a base price of $425k. Sunfield home sizes go from 1,207 up to 4,299 sq. ft. Buyers may choose plans that fit their budgets and wishes from the single-story 3/2 to a 2-story, 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath plan.

Home Features ♦ Sunfield Buda

Though the standard features vary with the builder, any of these new homes in Sunfield will have many standard features. They are likely to include energy-efficiency features like LowE double-pane windows, high SEER A/C systems, and radiant-barrier decking, and interior features like water-saving commodes, kitchen backsplash, and satin nickel door knobs. All six builders offer upgrade options for buyers who want to personalize their homes.

The Sunbright Activity Center and Other Area Amenities Sunfield Buda Subdivision

The pool at the Sunbright Activity Center in Buda's Subfield subdivisionSunfield offers many amenities to homeowners! These include the already-built Sunbright Activity Center, which features a pool with changing area, splash feature, large covered pavilion for family and neighborhood gatherings, and play equipment for the kids. The neighborhood also has a fenced dog-run area, lengthy hike and bike trails throughout the community, and smaller parks built close to the homes in Sunfield. Membership in the Sunfield HOA is required.

The new Lazy River Amenity Center is expected to open in late 2018. Residents will be able to float in the lazy river, enjoy a new sport court and swim in a new pool.

The Sunfield community is near fairly new shopping centers along IH-35 in Buda and Kyle. These centers provide homeowners with easy access to outdoor sporting goods (Cabela's), general and grocery shopping (Super WalMart, Target Super Center and HEB), and eating places. It is also a short drive south to the outlet centers at San Marcos and north to the Southpark Meadows shopping center in South Austin.

Nearby golf courses include Plum Creek, Onion Creek and Grey Rock Golf Clubs.

Three new medical facilities are under construction in the Buda area, including two in the Sunfield area. These are the Baylor Scott & White Hospital, the Ascension Seton Health Center and the St. David’s Healthcare 24-hour emergency center. Kyle's Ascension Seton Medical Center Hospital is located just south of Sunfield at 6001 Kyle Parkway (just off IH-35). 

Another great area feature is the City of Buda, which has maintained its connection to its past while growing with the rest of the area south of Austin. Be sure to check it out.

Public Schools ♦ Students Living in Sunfield Buda

Students living in the Sunfield subdivision attend public schools operated by the Hays Consolidated Independent School District. Parents should verify current school assignments with the Hays CISD since attendance boundaries are sometimes redrawn and new schools are built. Two elementary schools and a middle school are included in the development plan for Sunfield.
