Summer Pointe ♦ History and Builder


View of the Summer Pointe neighborhood in Buda.The Summer Pointe neighborhood is being developed by Pacesetter Homes. In July 2019, home construction and sales are finished in Summer Pointe. The subdivision has around 80 single-family residences.


The builder originally offered 14 different plans in their Craftsman Plus Series. These homes ranged in size from the smallest single-story plan (1,755 sq. ft.) to the largest 2-story model (3,117 sq. ft. with an option for another 163 sq. ft.). The homes available in Summmer Pointe now are 1- and 2-story resale homes.

Summer Pointe ♦ Home Features and Amenities


Homeowners are required to be members of the Summer Pointe subdivision Home Owner's Association (HOA). Membership fees provide for upkeep of any common areas in the subdivision. The key amenity in Summer Pointe is the adjacent neighborhood park, operated by the City of Buda. There is another, larger city park a short distance down Old Black Colony RD. 


Summer Pointe Community: Travel, Shopping, Recreation, Etc.


The connection of FM-1626 to the new SH-45 SW tollway was opened in 2019. This road provides a cut-across to MOPAC and SW Austin. It eliminated the need to travel from Buda to Austin via Brodie LN or other roads. The 2015 addition of 2 more lanes to FM-1626 greatly improved travel and road safety for Buda and Kyle residents headed toward Austin for jobs and shopping, and home from work.


Another road-improvement project (FM-1626 on the south side of FM-967) is in progress in July 2019. It will improve travel and safety from Summer Pointe heading south toward Kyle, or north toward Austin. 


Shopping developments in Buda along IH-35 (accessed via FM-967) include Cabela's (a favorite stop of outdoor sports lovers, major stores like The City of Buda park next to the Summer Pointe neighborhoodSuper Wal-Mart and the HEB Plus grocery store. In addition, there are a number places to eat (Logan's Road House, Cracker Barrel, and Chili's, e.g.).


Newish medical care options in Buda: The Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Hospital (5330 Overpass RD) opened in September 2019. Also recently opened were the Ascension Seton Medical Center (5235 Overpass RD) and the St. David's Emergency Center (15610 IH 35 South). T


To the south of Buda along IH-35, there are more stores and shops in Kyle and in San Marcos (Tanger Outlet, Premium Outlets). The most popular shopping center on the north side of Buda is the Southpark Meadows development at IH-35 and W. Slaughter Lane.


The closest golf clubs are Grey Rock Golf Club (owned by the City of Austin, located in Circle C Ranch) and the Plum Creek Golf Club (in Kyle). There are many close-by park and outdoor facilities, including the City of Buda park adjacent to Summer Pointe, several other parks operated by the City of Buda, the City of Austin Metro and Searight parks along W. Slaughter Lane, Zilker Park, and McKinney Falls State Park.


Summer Pointe Subdivision ♦ Public Schools

Students who live in Summer Pointe attend schools of the Hays Consolidated Independent School District. Prospective Summer Pointe homeowners should verify current school assignments and other school information with the Hays CISD.
