Nearby eating and shopping options include those in Buda (Cabela's Outdoor World store, WalMart and HEB stores, and a number of eateries). San Marcos has many shops (both big box and smaller businesses like the Tanger Outlet & Premium Outlets. A few miles to the north is South Austin's Southpark Meadows development (WalMart SuperCenter, Target, Sam's Club, RoomStore, J. C. Penneys, and more).
Southlake Ranch is conveniently located near IH-35, the main travek artery between San Antonio and Austin. This simplifies getting to schools, jobs, eating out, shopping, recreational activities and more. Travel to the Austin Bergstrom Intercontinental Airport (ABIA) can be done via IH-35 north to US-71/290 and turn east, or via IH-35 north to SH-45 to SH-130, then east at US-71.
