Features ♦ Sendera Austin Neighborhood
Sendera is a very well-kept neighborhood. The wide streets (none of them straight through the subdivision) make the neighborhood appealing. There are also neighborhood restrictions against parking vehicles on the streets overnight in Sendera.
Sendera has a very nice neighborhood amenity center that features a large swimming pool, a playground and picnic tables. It is located on Davis Lane just east of Mopac. The neighborhood also has a second playgound and picnic area just past the main entrance in Sendera South.
Sendera has an active home owner's association (HOA). Some people dislike HOA's, but they help to protect property values through the services provided via monthly fees. Membership in the Sendera HOA is mandatory. In early 2010, the HOA fees are $33/month. The fees provide for landscaping and upkeep of the roads and entries to the neighborhood (common areas), the swim center and the Sendera Place park.
Homes in Sendera were built by Milburn Homes beginning in 1997 through 2001. (Milburn Homes was later purchased by D.R. Horton Homes.) The over-800 homes in this neighborhood are a mixture of single-story and two-story models that range in size from about 1,500 sq. ft. to over 3,200 sq. ft.
Sendera is in a good location, with very easy access to Mopac (Loop 1). IH-35 is about 5 miles to the east down W. Slaughter Lane. There are plenty of shopping centers, grocery stores and eating places nearby.
Real estate and homes in Sendera are typically less expensive than in subdivisions to the West (Circle C Ranch and the Villages at Western Oaks, for example) and to the South (Shady Hollow and Bauerle Ranch, for example).
When we moved to Austin almost 9 years ago, we settled in Sendera. We have found our 2-story home on Bremner Drive to be well-built. We enjoy living and selling homes in this neighborhood.
