Sendera Subdivision in Austin ♦ Builder and Homes

Sign at one of the entrances to the Sendera Austin subdivision (north side of W. Slaughter)This popular subdivision was developed by Milburn Homes in the years 1997 through 2001. (Milburn Homes was later purchased by D.R. Horton Homes.) The development has a section on the south side of W. Slaughter Lane (Sendera South, aka Sendera Place) and two sections to the north.

The over-800 homes in this neighborhood are a mixture of single-story and two-story models that range in size from about 1,500 sq. ft. to around 3,300 sq. ft.

Real estate and homes in Sendera are typically less expensive than in subdivisions to the West (Circle C Ranch and the Villages at Western Oaks, for example) and to the South (Shady Hollow, Brodie Springs, Bridges at Bear Creek, for example).

Sendera Austin ♦ Neighborhood Features

A view of homes in SenderaSendera is a very well-kept neighborhood. The wide streets (none of them straight through the subdivision) add to the neighborhood's appeal. There are also neighborhood restrictions against parking vehicles on the streets overnight in Sendera.

Sendera features a very nice neighborhood amenity center with a large swimming pool, a playground and picnic tables. It is located on Davis Lane just east of Mopac. The neighborhood also has a second playgound and picnic area just past the main entrance in Sendera South.

Sendera Austin ♦ HOA & Taxes

Check out the nice swimming pool and picnic area that Sendera residents enjoy!Homeowners in Sendera are required to maintain membership in the Sendera HOA. The HOA is an active one, working to help protect Sendera neighborhood property values. These fees provide for landscaping and upkeep of the roads and entries to the neighborhood (common areas), the Sendera Swim Center and the Sendera Place park. 

Taxes paid by Sendera homeowners are typical of most other neighborhoods in the Austin city limits. The primary taxing authorities for Sendera are the City of Austin, the Austin Independent School District, and Travis County. Tax rates and property values typically change from one year to the next.

Sendera playground on the south side of the neighborhoodSendera is in located well just a mile or so from to Mopac (Loop 1). IH-35 is about 5 miles to the east on W. Slaughter Lane. Shopping centers, grocery stores and eating places abound in the area. A number of new centers have been developed in the past few years. These include Shady Hollow Village and Southpark Meadows to the east of Sendera on W. Slaughter Ln. There are also Escarpment Village in Circle C Ranch, The Shops at Arbor Trails at Mopac and William Cannon, and a number of developments in the Sunset Valley area. 

Golfers can test their skills at the nearby Grey Rock Golf Club (public course, owned by the City of Austin, formerly Circle C GC), located on the south side of Circle C Ranch. Other clubs and courses, like Plum Creek GC and the City of Austin's Clay and Kizer courses are a short drive from Sendera.

Other area features include the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the Veloway on the east side of Circle C Ranch, and several multi-featured public parks (Circle C Metro Park, Mary Moore Searight Park, Dick Nichols Park, e.g.).

Public Schools for Sendera Austin Students

Students living in Sendera attend schools of the Austin Independent School District. Prospective homeowners should verify the currently assigned schools with the Austin ISD.
