- Rim Rock is located southwest of Austin on FM-1826 (also known as Camp Ben McCullough Road) about four miles from Driftwood. It is about 19 miles from Downtown Austin. From Austin, travel Mopac and SH-45 to FM-1826, turn left and go 5-6 miles. From US-290, turn left on FM-1826 about a mile past the Oak Hill "Y". Travel about 9 miles to the first Rimrock entrance at Ador Canyon Pass, which leads into the original section of Rim Rock. Continue on FM-1826 to the newer sections of Rimrock. The second entrance is at Shelf Rock Road. A third section (entry is Towering Cedar Drive) is being developed.

Rim Rock Builders, Homes and HomesitesIn Rim Rock, there are two key options for potential homeowners: (1) Purchase a lot in the original section and choose your custom builder. (2) Purchase an inventory or to-be-built home from either of the two major builders in the newer sections of Rim Rock. Resale homes are also available. All Rim Rock homes are built on lots a minimum of 1 acre in size. The largest lot available in the original section in April 2009 is just over 3 acres.
