The first homes in this neighborhood were sold in 2005. The build-out of the nighborhood was completed in 2011 by Plantation Homes. The other two neighborhood builders, Meritage Homes and Newmark Homes, finished their their work earlier than that.
Homes in The Ridge at Lantana command prices that averaged around $398k in 2012. Home sizes in The Ridge at Lantana range from about 2,100 sq. ft. to almost 5,200 sq. ft. They have from 3 to 5 bedrooms, 2-4 full baths (some have half baths also), 2- or 3-car garages, and 1- or 2 stories. These homes are built with 4 sides masonry, and have plenty of modern features that make them appealing to buyers looking for a home in this price range.

The Ridge at Lantana is located in a key area for workers in the Austin electronics, semiconductor and computer industry. The relatively new campus for AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) is located on the Southwest Parkway at William Cannon Dr. One of the Freescale Semiconductor plants is located just south of The Ridge at Lantana on William Cannon Dr.
Shoppers can visit the Hill Country Galleria in the Village of Bee Cave, the Shops at Arbor Trails (on Mopac south of US-290/71, the Barton Creek Mall (just west of Mopac on the Capitol of Texas Hwy.), and many other places near Sunset Valley. The neighborhood is also close to Downtown Austin, Zilker Park, Barton Creek and other areas where people go to enjoy the outdoors in Austin.
For those who love to play golf, there are a number of municipal, semi-private and private golf courses and clubs near the subdivision.
The Ridge at Lantana ♦ HOA and Taxes
Membership in the Lantana Southwest HOA is required for homeowners. Fees in January 2013 were $300 annually, paid quarterly. The HOA is managed by Southwest Management Services.
The 2012 tax rates for properties in The Ridge at Lantana totalled $2.38/$100 of assessed property value. The primary taxing entities are the City of Austin, the Austin Independent School District and Travis County. Electricity, water, sewer and waste services are provided by the City of Austin. Homes are heated by natural gas. There is no municipal utility district.
The Ridge at Lantana currently does not have any parks, walking trails or other neighborhood amenities.
