My Family and Faith
Claire, my wife, partner and assistant in our Heart of Austin Homes real estate business, and I have been happily married for over 43 years. We find the Austin area to be a great place to live, to work and to own a home. We have lived in the Sendera subdivision in SW Austin for over 9 years.
We have three daughters, five grandsons and two sons-in-law! (The female-male balance in our family has definitely changed through the years!) We count these members of our family highly among our many blessings!
We like to apply the fruit of our life partnership and experiences to meeting the needs of our real estate clients. Our work in Austin real estate is an extension or expression of who we are and where we have come from in our lives. We have both been believers in the Lord Jesus Christ since our childhoods. Our faith has not only shaped who we are, but also how we relate to others.
My Experience and Work History
I have been a Realtor® in the Austin, Texas area since mid-2005 (now 6½ years). I specialize in homes and subdivisions in South and Southwest Austin, but have also successfully helped my clients sell and purchase new and resale homes all over the Austin, Texas area. My buyer clients have purchased new construction homes from builders like D.R. Horton, Newmark, Lennar, Highland and Grand Haven Homes.
To my work with real estate buyers and sellers, I bring valuable experience from my two prior careers as an engineer and pastor. I spent a dozen years as a chemical engineer and process manager with Shell Chemical and with Ethyl Corp. My strengths were solving problems and taking care of the details of projects.
Following this career, I spent the next 23 years as a pastor. From my experiences in this calling, I bring a servant’s heart and a genuine love for people. The principles of God’s Word guide me in my relationships and in my work with my clients. I major on communicating well with my clients, educating them so they can make informed decisions, and helping them through the many steps of the process of buying or selling homes.
Our Work, Motto and Business Aim
A large part of our business model is providing potential buyers and sellers with much-better-than-average neighborhood real estate information. To do so, we maintain a growing inventory of over 100 featured neighborhood web pages on our Heart of Austin Homes site. Though it is a challenge to do so, we work at keeping the detailed information on these pages up-to-date. Why? We want you to be able to learn what you want to know about your neighborhoods of interest. Each of these pages has a section with an interactive map that displays the current MLS listings of homes for sale.
As we have time, we also add new pages for additional neighborhoods. This process increases what is available to assist you, and helps us focus on expanding our knowledge of the Austin-area real estate market.
