The development of the Meadows at Double Creek began in 2007 by Newmark Homes. With the slowdown of the regional and national economies, progress in the community slowed also. Newmark sold its interests in the Meadows at Double Creek to Scott Felder Homes, which in early 2013 is continuing to build new homes in the neighborhood.
When completed, the Meadows at Double Creek subdivision will have 125 single-family homes. It features a neighborhood park and playground for children.
Homes in the Meadows at Double Creek
The Meadows at Double Creek neighborhood features both resale and new construction homes. In January 2013, Scott Felder Homes is winding down its activity in this neighborhood. It has just a few homes left to sell. When these have been sold, home sales in this community will all be resale.
Local Features and HOA ♦ Meadows at Double Creek Subdivision
For shopping and entertainment, residents are very near the large Southpark Meadows shopping, restaurant and residential development. Stores include major anchors WalMart and Target, and a host of well-known and lesser-known establishments. Options also include a movie theater complex, furniture stores and much more! Other shopping outlets such as Cabela’s in Buda and others to the north on IH-35 are easily accessible from the Meadows at Double Creek. And, don’t forget that the many entertainment and eating offerings in Downtown Austin are within a few miles.
Among is parks located south of Lady Bird Johnson Lake is the Mary Moore Searight Park, a municipal park operated by the city of Austin. It is located just off W. Slaughter Lane near S. 1st. St. Other nearby parks include the Metro Park in Circle C Ranch, Zilker Park and McKinney Falls State Park. The subdivision is just a few miles from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the Veloway, a park for rollerblading and bicycle enthusiasts.
Tax rates in the Meadows at Double Creek for the year 2012 were $2.38 per $100 of property value. The primary taxing entities for the neighborhood are the City of Austin, Travis County and the Austin ISD.
Membership in the community HOA (managed by ProfCam) is required. Fees are $300 per year.
