Located in Driftwood, TX 78619, La Ventana is situated to the West of Buda, TX, and is about 13 miles southwest of Circle C Ranch in Austin. This gated community is one of the top single-family residential developments in Hays County. La Ventana has three sections of development: La Ventana (the original), La Ventana West, and the Preserve at La Ventana (newest and southernmost section).
Homeowners in La Ventana enjoy the benefits of living close to Austin, along with those that come from living in the country. La Ventana is a short drive to either Wimberley or Dripping Springs, and all of their attractions and shopping, or to those places along IH-35 in Buda, Kyle, San Marcos and Austin. Some well-known nearby features include the Salt Lick restaurant, the Driftwood Estates and Duchman Family wineries, Cabela's Outdoor sporting goods outlet, Grey Rock and Plum Creek Golf Clubs and more.
La Ventana is an amenity-rich community. Features include the Rancher's Clubhouse with its meeting rooms and commercial kitchen, three swimming pools, driving range, huge pavilion with fireplace, exercise equipment, tennis court and playground for children. Flat Creek (a wet-weather creek) runs between the community center and the driving range and tennis court area. Owners can also use the horse and hiking trails in the community. Membership in the La Ventana ROA is required.

Except for the original ranch house (built 1975) in La Ventana, the homes in this Hill Country subdivision were all constructed beginning in the year 2000. Most of the homes were custom-built by a variety of builders. For a while, Mercedes Homes built a few spec homes in the neighborhood.
Homes in La Ventana range in size from around 2,700 sq. ft. to just over 5,000 sq. ft. The price range of homes sold through the Austin MLS in 2014 was $362,000-$1,115,000, giving a clear indication that La Ventana is an upscale community. These homes typically have 3 garage spaces, 4-5 bedrooms and 3+ baths.
The typical lot size in La Ventana is 1-4 acres, but there are a few larger lots. As might be expected, views of the Hill Country, greenbelt and woods are common in La Ventana. Lots on higher elevations may have panoramic or creek/stream views. The development also has 35 or so lots that allow horses. A number of lots are also available in La Ventana for those who wish to build a custom home.
