Homes in the Hillcrest community were built by Buffington Homes and K.B. Home in the years 1998-2004. The subdivision features a neighborhood pool and play area for kids. It is conveniently located near schools, eating places, and plenty of shopping, including Tanglewood Village (at W. Slaughter Lane and Manchaca Road) and the newish Southpark Meadows shopping and residential development (at W. Slaughter Lane and I-35).
Homeowners are required to be members of the Hillcrest Homeowners Association. HOA fees are used to maintain the subdivision community pool and other common areas. In May 2011, the HOA is managed by Capstone Real Estate Services.
