The homes in the Highlands at Grist Mill are built to be energy-efficient. They will include many standard features that allow homeowners to personalize their new home.

In November 2019, base prices for these 1- and 2-story homes start at $193k and go up to $257k. Plan sizes vary from 1,353 sq. ft. to 2,898 sq. ft. Three model homes are available to help buyers determine what is best for them.

The primary taxing entities are Hays County, the Hays Consolidated ISD and the City of Kyle .

Utility providers for Highlands at Grist Mill residents are Pedernales Electric, County Line Special Utility District (water) and City of Uhland (trash).

The community park at Highlands at Grist MillHomeowners in the Highlands at Grist Mill can find many choices for eating out, and for entertainment and shopping. Three large retail developments (The Village at Kylethe Kyle Marketplace, and Kyle Crossingare located just to the north of FM-150 on IH-35. Stores include WalMart SuperCenter, Lowe's, Super Target, HEB Plus, and many others. The EVO Entertainment complex and Home Depot can be found further north off IH-35 in the Kyle Town Centre. Medical Care? Try Seton Medical Center Hays, which opened in late 2009, or many of the other healthcare options in the Kyle area.

Cabela's outdoors store, many eating places and other shopping opportunities are a short drive to the north in Buda. Highlands residents can find the popular Tanger & Premium Outlet centers and other places of business by taking IH-35 south to San Marcos. 

The expansive, and very popular, Southpark Meadows retail shopping center is located just a few miles to the north in South Austin.

Take toll road SH-45 just north of Buda to get to SH-130 and the Austin airport (ABIA). You can also travel around Austin's east side to Pflugerville and Georgetown (and avoid many IH-35 delays) via SH-130. 

Public Schools ♦ Students Living in the Highlands at Grist Mill Community

Children living in Highlands at Grist Mill attend schools operated by the Hays Consolidated Independent School District (HCISD). In November 2019, students are zoned to attend Hemphill Elementary, Simon Middle and Lehman High schools. Parents should confirm the currently assigned schools with the Hays CISD. Attendance boundaries are occcasionally redrawn.
