Estates of Shady Hollow Austin ♦ Subdivision Features

The Estates of Shady Hollow subdivision is a very nice community of homes on "estate-sized" lots of at least one acre in size. Several of the streets in the Estates of Shady Hollow (also called Shady Hollow Estates) have "Hollow" as part of their name. The subdivision has a total of about 235 homes.

Homes in the Estates of Shady Hollow were built in the years 1984 through 2001, and range in size from around 1,900 sq. ft. to almost 5,000 sq. ft. of living space. The neighborhood has an active homeowner association (Estates of Shady Hollow HOA).

Taxes in the Estates neighborhood are primarily collected by Travis County and the Austin ISD. The total tax rate for the year 2014 was $2.00/$100 of assessed value. This rate is lower than most in the South-Southwest area because the neighborhood is not currently in the Austin city limits (annexation is planned for 2020).
