Sales of homes in Crystal Falls began around 1994. Development of the subdivision is continuing. A number of sections are set aside for future development.
In its 17 years of development, a number of home builders have built residences in Crystal Falls. These include at least 20 custom-home builders, and around a dozen well-known semi-custom home builders. The current (October 2011) line-up of semi-custom builders includes Taylor-Morrison, Drees, Grand Haven, Buffington, Highland, David Weekley, and Mercedes Homes.
Crystal Falls has a number of neighborhoods: The Woods, The Boulders, The Bluffs, The Fairways, The Highlands, Caprock, and several sections called Grand Mesa. There are acreage estates in the neighborhood, and gated areas also. Sites with views of the Hill Country, the Crystal Falls golf course and the creeks that run through the development are common.
Homebuyers in Crystal Falls have many options. These include new construction and resale homes in single- and two-story floor plans. Home sizes range from around 1,500 to 8,000 sq. ft. Sales prices stretch from the mid $100's to around $1,000,000.

One of the prime amenities of Crystal Falls in Leander is the Crystal Falls Golf Club, located about 3.5 miles from US-183 on the Crystal Falls Parkway. It is a public, daily-fee course that is owned and operated by the City of Leander. Built with beautiful views of the Hill Country, and meandering along a creek which comes into play on 12 holes, this 6,654-yard layout is designed to provide a memorable golf experience in more ways than one! The course has club house and with pro shop, a driving range, and a bar/grill.
Other amenities in the Crystal Falls development include two community centers with swimming pools, playscapes and other equipment for children to enjoy, picnic tables and grills, a sand volleyball court, lots of trails for walking or jogging, a fishing lake and more!
Major roads in the Crystal Falls area include US-183 and US-183A (partially tolled) for travel to Austin, RR-620 which connects drivers to Lakeway and Lake Travis, FM-1431 which runs west along the south side of Crystal Falls to Lago Vista and east to Cedar Park and north Round Rock. Access is also easy via US-183A to SH-45 (tolled) and the Round Rock area.
Crystal Falls neighborhood residents can find many shopping places nearby, including the Lakeline Mall and newish developments along FM-1431 in Cedar Park.
Crystal Falls Subdivision ♦ Homeowners Association (HOA) ♦ Taxes
Homeowner membership in the Crystal Falls HOA is required. Fees take care of common areas in the neighborhood, including the community centers. Tax rates in 2010 were set at around $2.70/$100 of assessed property value. The primary taxing entities are Williamson County, the Leander ISD and the City of Leander, which provides water/sewer service to the community.
Public Schools for Crystal Falls Students
Crystal Falls students attend Leander Independent School District schools. Because of the size of the Crystal Falls development, not all students attend the same elementary schools and middle schools.
